The Sustainable Tourism Research Cluster (STRC) in collaboration with Social Transformation Platform (SocTrans), Universiti Sains Malaysia will be organizing the 2nd Regional Conference On Tourism Research in University Conference Hall, USM on November 22, 2011.

The main goal of this conference is to provide platform to all researchers, academicians, professionals, practitioners and students to discuss and share relevant knowledge of tourism research topics and findings. This conference focuses on a broad array of topics concerning new tourism

What is New Tourism?

New tourism or alternative tourism is a combination of tourist products or individual tourist supply which is different from mass tourism by the means of supply, organization and human resource involved. It is a form of tourism which sets out to be consistent with natural, social and community values, allowing both hosts and guests to enjoy the positive and worthwhile interactions and shared experiences.

Therefore, the organizer has classified several types of new tourism that will be the scope of potential papers which includes Medical Tourism, Eco-Tourism, Cultural Tourism, Environmental Tourism, Agro Tourism, Astronomy Tourism and et.al.
